BMW 5 Series is a mid-size luxury car designed for all types of people who are interested in owning a luxurious, reliable and nimble car. All BMW 5 Series models come with standard BMW iDrive that utilizes a console "joystick" knob in controlling navigation, entertainment, climate and communication functions. The 5th generation 5 Series is built following BMW's philosophy of "intelligent lightweight design." This philosophy uses aluminum chassis, brakes and suspension making the car lighter than the previous editions. Also new is the Head Protection System mated with an inflatable tube that is positioned diagonally from the base of the windshield pillar to the roof on the top of the rear door. This system gives an enhanced head protection for front-seat occupants.
